Core Values

Overall well-being is at the heart of my practice.

If overall well-being is a puzzle, then emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health are the pieces that complete this overarching aspect of our life. Therefore paying keen attention and nurturing each area is imperative. How do we achieve this within therapy?

We all have a hidden reserve of strength, the ability to enhance our lives and an abundance of internal resources.

Additionally, external resources that range from your support systems to the community, are equally important. We explore and identify these areas, harness and put them into action to boost the quality of your life.

Approach

Therapy is effective in the presence of a solid therapeutic relationship. Key to this alliance is mutual respect, transparency, trust and honesty. For many, it takes courage to appear for sessions and discuss difficult at times traumatic aspects of their lives. Armed with skills that are inherent and learnt, I am determined to create an environment that is safe, warm and welcoming.

In alignment with your cultural values, needs and goals I adopt a holistic approach to best help you. I customize therapy given your lived experiences, cultural background and presenting concerns.

In addition to facilitating autonomy, we hone your existing abilities and work collaboratively to strengthen your sense of self.

As a sole practitioner, your best interest and quality of care are at the forefront. To bring about a constructive change, a multidisciplinary team approach could be necessary. This involves working with your family doctor, psychiatrist or other mental health professionals.
